First Visit
Nope — that's kind of our whole thing. Walk-ins are always welcome at Unwind. No booking app, no waitlist, no planning required. See an open chair, take a seat. Sessions start at just 10 minutes, so even a quick stop between errands fits into your day.
Yes — walking in is the intended approach. Unwind is designed for exactly that: you show up when it's convenient, choose a session length, and start relaxing within minutes. No calls, no forms, no confirmation emails. Just come in.
Whatever you're already wearing. Work clothes, gym clothes, jeans — all fine. Since you stay fully clothed the entire time, there's no locker room involved and nothing to change into. Come straight from the office, the gym, or the golf course. You're good.
Yes — 100%. Unwind is a touchless lounge, meaning our premium Osaki zero-gravity massage chairs do all the work. No massage therapist, no oils, no sheet, no awkward moments. You stay fully dressed from start to finish. It's one of the reasons so many people come in on their lunch break.
For the best experience, yes — shoes come off so the chair's foot and calf rollers can work properly. Socks are totally fine. If you're wearing boots or dress shoes, they slip off easily and you're back out the door with everything on before anyone notices you were gone.
Sessions start at 10 minutes ($20), with 20-minute ($30) and 30-minute ($45) options. Ten minutes is surprisingly effective for a quick reset — shoulders, neck, lower back, legs, all covered. The 30-minute session is the crowd favorite for a full-body experience. Members on our unlimited plan can stay as long as they like.
That's exactly who we're here for. A 20-minute session, no changing, no appointment, and you're back at your desk feeling like a different person. Plenty of our regulars are attorneys, doctors, and business owners in the Park Cities area who treat Unwind like a mid-day reset button.
No early arrival needed — you just walk in and go. On your first visit, budget an extra two or three minutes to pick your session length and get settled into the chair. After that, you'll know the drill and it's instant every time. No check-in desk, no intake forms, no waiting room magazine from 2019.
Massage Chairs
Different tools, different contexts. A skilled therapist is hard to beat for deep tissue or targeted work. But for consistent daily or weekly relief — tight shoulders, lower back tension, post-workout soreness — a high-end Osaki massage chair delivers a thorough, repeatable experience that costs a fraction of a traditional massage and takes no scheduling at all. Most of our regulars use Unwind as a complement to their existing wellness routine.
Standard massage chairs move rollers up, down, left, and right (3D adds depth). 4D massage adds speed variation — the rollers can speed up and slow down mid-stroke, mimicking the rhythm and feel of a real therapist's hands. It's the difference between a mechanical massage and one that actually feels intuitive and human. Our Osaki chairs are equipped with 4D technology, which is part of why first-timers are usually surprised by how good it feels.
Zero gravity is a recline position — inspired by NASA research — where your knees are elevated slightly above your heart. This position takes pressure off the spine, opens the vertebrae, and lets the massage rollers reach deeper into the back with less resistance. Most people feel the difference immediately when the chair tilts into zero gravity. It also helps circulation and reduces the load on your cardiovascular system during the session.
Yes — the footrest includes rollers and airbags that work your feet and calves simultaneously. It's one of the features people rave about most, especially after long days on their feet. That's also why taking your shoes off matters: the rollers need direct contact to do their job properly.
Absolutely — shoulders and neck are among the primary focus areas. The chairs use a combination of kneading rollers and airbags to work the shoulder blades, trapezius, and neck. If you carry tension there (and most people do), you'll notice it immediately. You can also target specific areas using the chair's controls.
Yes — intensity, speed, width, and focus area are all adjustable. Each chair has a remote so you can dial it up or pull it back. If it's your first time, we recommend starting at a medium setting and adjusting from there. Our staff is also happy to walk you through the controls so you get exactly what you came in for.
Benefits
Lower back pain is one of the most common reasons people find us. Our Osaki chairs include a lumbar heat function and targeted roller programs specifically for the lumbar region. The zero gravity position takes compressive load off the spine, allowing the rollers to work the muscles along the lower back more effectively. Regular sessions — even just a few times a week — can meaningfully reduce chronic tension for people who sit at a desk or are on their feet all day. As always, for medical conditions, consult your doctor.
Yes — massage is one of the most well-studied tools for reducing cortisol (the stress hormone) and increasing serotonin and dopamine. Even a 10-minute session puts your body into a parasympathetic state — the opposite of fight-or-flight. You'll notice the difference by the time your session ends. That's not spa talk; it's physiology.
Many tension headaches originate in the neck and upper back — tight muscles that refer pain upward. Massage that targets the neck, shoulders, and trapezius can relieve that tension and reduce headache frequency for people who get them regularly. It won't cure a migraine mid-session, but as a preventative tool for tension-type headaches, regular massage is well supported. Several of our regular members specifically mention headache relief as one of the main reasons they come in.
Golf puts a lot of rotational stress on the lower back, hips, and shoulders — and if you're playing 18 holes in Texas heat, everything is tighter than it should be afterward. A post-round session at Unwind works the lumbar region, loosens the shoulders, and helps flush lactic acid from the legs. Several of our regulars come in after their rounds at nearby courses. It's become part of their routine, not an afterthought.
Post-workout massage is one of the most research-backed recovery tools available. It increases blood flow to fatigued muscles, reduces delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS), and helps break up adhesions that form in connective tissue after heavy training. A 20–30 minute session after lifting or running hits everything — calves, hamstrings, lower back, shoulders. And because you stay clothed, you can come straight from the gym and still make it back to work.
Students
Yes — we offer a student discount for SMU students. Bring your Mustang Card and ask about it at the lounge. We're right in Snider Plaza, about a five-minute walk from campus, so there's no good reason to be stressed at SMU when we're this close.
Yes — anyone can walk in, students included. No appointment, no planning, no commitment. Drop in between classes, after the gym, or before heading home. A 10-minute session is shorter than most lecture breaks. We're open seven days a week.
Especially during finals. Chronic stress disrupts sleep, tightens muscles, and makes it harder to retain information. Even a single 20-minute session can reset your nervous system, reduce cortisol, and give your brain a legitimate break from screen time. Some students make it a study ritual — one session per exam block. It's cheaper than an energy drink habit and noticeably more effective.
Gift Cards
Yes — gift cards are available online and in the lounge. They make an easy, genuinely useful gift for pretty much anyone: teachers, parents, colleagues, partners, golf buddies. No awkward sizing questions, no regifting. Just walk in and relax — which is kind of a gift everyone could use.
Gift cards do not expire. Give it in December, redeem it in August — no pressure, no rush. The value stays until it's used.
Chair Sales
Yes — that's one of the clearest advantages of buying through Unwind. You're not ordering a chair you've only seen on a website. You can sit in it, feel the 4D rollers, test the zero gravity position, and know exactly what you're putting in your home before you spend a dollar on it. It's not a showroom in the traditional sense — it's a working lounge. Every chair you try is a chair you could own.
Yes — Unwind is an authorized dealer for both Osaki and Titan massage chairs. That means full manufacturer warranty, legitimate support channels, and price matching. You get the same protection as buying direct, plus a local contact who actually knows the products and isn't a call center. It matters when something needs attention down the road.
Yes — we offer white-glove delivery and setup throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area. That means we bring the chair in, place it exactly where you want it, assemble it, and make sure everything is working before we leave. Massage chairs are not furniture you want dropped on your doorstep. We treat the install like the end of the sale, not the beginning of your problem.
